Inisheer Airport – INQ/EIIR – Runway 13/31

Perched on the smallest and easternmost of Ireland’s Aran Islands in Galway Bay, Inisheer Airport – Aerfort Inis Oírr INQ/EIIR offers one of the most scenic and remote landing experiences in the Atlantic. Established to provide a vital lifeline to the mainland, the airside facility is operated by the Department of Rural and Community Development and serves as a critical connection for the local island community. It features a single paved bitumen runway, 13/31, measuring 520 meters in length and 18 meters in width. Today, the airport is primarily served by Aer Arann Islands, which operates regular regional flights connecting Inisheer to Connemara Airport using Britten-Norman BN-2 Islander aircraft, navigating the dramatic coastal winds and ocean vistas of the Irish west coast.
