Flugplatz Mollis – LSZM – Runway 19

Located in the Glarus valley at an elevation of 443 meters, Mollis Airfield is a former Swiss Air Force base now serving civil aviation and helicopter operations. The airfield is defined by its impressive runway 01/19, which underwent a refurbishment in late September 2025. 1.7 kilometers of the surface were renewed using 280 truckloads of fresh asphalt, reopening for flight operations on October 1st 2025. This modernization preserves the precision of the 1,700-meter strip, offering a pristine, dark contrast against the dramatic backdrop of the surrounding alpine peaks.
