Rare Guest: Cavok Air – Antonov An-12BP (UR-CKM) at EuroAirport (BSL)

On Friday evening, April 10, 2026, the EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (BSL/LFSB) welcomed a true legend of Soviet aviation. I had the pleasure of capturing the Cavok Air Antonov AN-12BP, registered as UR-CKM, as it touched down on Runway 33. The aircraft arrived at EuroAirport on a cargo flight to Montreal from Gran Canaria (LPA), its four Ivchenko AI-20 turboprop engines producing that unmistakable sound and the unmistakable plumes of smoke that aviation enthusiasts love so much. Seeing this vintage airlifter still in active service is always a highlight for any spotter.
